Cloning, Embryonic Stem Cell Research and
IVF from a Biblical Perspective
________________________________________________
By Phil
Magnan
For You
formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother's womb.
I will
give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
Your
eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.
Psalm
139:13-16
A
Special Note to My Readers:
I would like to address Cloning, Stem Cell
research and In Vitro Fertilization, (IVF) in a manner that is both readable
and I hope will give you reasons why specific bio technologies should not be
supported or funded. We must pursue ethical medical cures in the light of
the Holy Scripture, which calls us to love and holiness. If the scientific
community wants to prevent past atrocities and injustices, they must also
consider the necessity of submitting to a higher moral authority; the God of
the Bible. This insures the greatest stability and civility for a society in
its pursuit of curing the ravages of disease.
It is my hope that as you take an honest look at what
science is producing and its pursuit of a not so brave new world, you will
be astounded as to the frightening path we have already taken. I also hope
that this will give you vital information that will strengthen and challenge
your morality to the core.
Sadly small humans and the dignity of humanity are at the
center of this moral dilemma. Even if one cannot agree with me in the
beginning of this premise, please to allow me the courtesy to explain my
position.
